Sales Administrator

ALine is a recognized leader in the development of Microfluidics-based products that enable scientists and engineers to develop the next generation of diagnostic products for health, environmental, and food monitoring.

 

The company specializes in the engineeringprototyping and commercialization of microfluidic, lab-on-a-chip products. The team of scientists and engineers understand the biology and chemistry of testing and integrating with the microfluidic engineering. ALine's expertise includes shortening and de-risking the development process for the customer.

 

With 15 years in business, thousands of customers and 6 commercialized products, ALine has developed a depth of expertise with engineered solutions that customers leverage to move quickly from research to development and product transfer. Clients count on ALine to deliver more industry know-how in the development of lab-on-a-chip products.

 

The company is seeking a motivated, scientifically-savvy Sales Administrator to research, and identify potential leads based on a customer profile, vet those leads through a questionnaire, and then setting up meetings with in house engineering staff to address technical concerns so that you can assemble the quote to send to the prospect. This position is responsible for managing a structured sales process using our salesforce CRM, and supporting in house staff in quoting, maintaining the CRM and supporting the development of new sales leads.

 

The Sales Manager is accountable for:

 

  • Fielding in-bound prospect and existing customer inquiries respond to requests for quotes, order entry, applications assistance, product selection and customer issues
  • Man the website bot and field questions from visitors
  • Work with key internal staff, engineers, executive manufacturers' representatives and distributors to maximize opportunity responsiveness
  • Provide support to Outside Sales Directors, Manufacturer's Representatives and Distributors
  • Promote all aspects of exceptional Customer Service consistent with ALine's reputation
  • Maintain customer relations and retention

 

Key Activities:

 

  • Field in-bound inquiries (phone, web, email, social) and leads from prospective customers
  • Qualify opportunities, develop new business to ensure prospect closes by prompting either internal staff at Aline and by keeping in regular contact with a lead to find and reduce obstacles to closing the sale.
  • Proactively contact and communicate with current customers, conduct ongoing touch-point meetings and surface new opportunities (farming) with existing accounts
  • Nurture current and past business partners and increase repeat business
  • Secure initial calls and meetings with prospect customers; identify potential opportunities; field relevant inquiries and engage internal resources and executives to prepare initial proposals and quotations
  • Maintain an updated and accurate pipeline in Salesforce.com and provide weekly reports to management that demonstrates successive momentum of opportunity flow through the pipeline
  • Provide exceptional customer service and client relations based on outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Maintain a quarterly and half-year target list of potential customers and sales and communicate with senior management on a weekly basis.
  • Support Sales Management in projects and sales growth
  • Communicate customer feedback and market insight with Management and internal Staff on an adhoc basis
  • Recommends potential services to Management by collecting customer information and analyzing customer needs
  • Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Management
  • Set up meetings for trade shows and meetings as directed by management

Daily Activities will include:

  • Provide a high level of customer service and client relations based on outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to understand mechanical concepts and to successfully communicate them to customers and sales channel partners
  • Avid user of Salesforce
  • Industry-standard proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field

 

Desired Education and Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree (Marketing/business major preferred with some biology or biomedical engineering preferred but not necessary)
  • Work experience in, and knowledge of, microfluidics products, applications and targeted industries
  • Experience working for or with a manufacturer or manufacturer's representative
  • Formal sales or customer service training
  • Understanding of order management/customer fulfilment in an e-commerce context
  • Computer literate and understanding of basic web technologies (Wordpress website built with Visual Composer, using WooCommerce)
  • Familiar with data management
  • Previous experience of website or e-commerce CMS
  • Basic understanding of Google products such as Webmaster Tools & Analytics would be desirable
